Daniel Staffelbach is a partner in the Corporate & Commercial Team of Walder Wyss. His main areas of practice include company and contract law, public law and employment law. He advises his clients and also represents them in litigation.

Born in 1966, Daniel Staffelbach studied law at the University of Berne (attorney 1993). He worked at the Administrative Law Panel Fraubrunnen, at the Court of Appeal of the Canton of Berne and in a law firm in Berne. Furthermore, he worked as a legal counsel at an international insurance company and headed the legal department of a leading healthcare organisation. He also acted as a part-time judge at the Swiss Federal Supreme Court.

Daniel Staffelbach speaks German, English and French. He is registered with the Zurich Bar Registry and admitted to practice in all Switzerland.

Another success in the TV usage data dispute

After having obtained the lifting of the ex parte measures issued by the High Court of Nidwalden (see our news report of 12 June 2013), Walder Wyss has also been successful in the proceedings before the Federal Administrative Court. All injunctions (again issued ex parte based on an application of 3+) have been set aside today with immediate effect.

Euro Choice II sells SENIOCare

Waterland Private Equity has acquired the SENIOcare Group, a leading operator of elderly care and nursing homes in Switzerland.

Walder Wyss advised the sellers (Euro Choice II funds, the partners of Rhino Partners AG as well as the members of the board and the management of SENIOcare) in the auction sales process.  The team was led by Urs P. Gnos (Partner, M&A) and included Stephan Neidhardt (Partner, Tax), Daniel Staffelbach (Partner, Healthcare), Thomas Müller-Tschumi (Partner, Real Estate), Lukas Wyss (Managing Associate; Finance), Gian A. Lindenhof takes over the majority of shares in Sonnenhof Hospitals

The Lindenhof Foundation takes over the majority of the shares in the two Sonnenhof Hospitals in the city of Berne with retroactive effect as from 1st January 2012. Comprising Lindenhof Hospital and the two Sonnenhof Hospitals Engeried and Sonnenhof, the Foundation will be conducting a strong private hospital group being one of the leading private providers of Swiss healthcare. The Foundation thus contributes substantially to ensure a comprehensive medical assistance of high quality by private hospitals for the Bernese as well as for the entire Swiss population.

Walder Wyss has advised Lindenhof Foundation in all legal aspects of the transaction. The responsible team was headed by Daniel Staffelbach (Partner, Corporate) and Markus Vischer (Partner, Corporate) and included Lucas Hänni (Managing Associate, Corporate), Barbara A.
