Magda Streuli-Youssef is head of the Information Technology, Intellectual Property and Competition Team. She represents parties before courts and state authorities in all kind of intellectual property, media and unfair competition law matters. Her practice areas also include IP strategies, IP audits and licensing. She was a member of the Federal Commission for the Exploitation of Copyrights and Neighbouring Rights and former Vicepresident of the Federal Appeals Commission for Intellectual Property.

Born in 1953, Magda Streuli-Youssef was educated at the University of Zurich (lic. iur. 1975, Dr. iur. 1978). She has working experience as attorney since 1980 and was a lecturer at Zurich University and at various institutions such as SAWI in Bienne and the EMBA of the University of St. Gall.

Magda Streuli-Youssef speaks German, English and French. She is registered with the Zurich Bar Registry and admitted to practice in all Switzerland.

ING sells Designer Outlet Landquart

ING Real Estate has sold the Designer Outlet Landquart to a special purpose vehicle (SPV) established by a London based investment fund. Following this transaction, the former owner of the real estate, the Swiss company ING Real Estate Development Alpenrhein AG, Zurich, will be dissolved and liquidated.

Walder Wyss advised ING in the transaction. Mövenpick sells Swiss concession gastronomy to Coop

Mövenpick Holding AG has entered into an agreement with Coop Group regarding the sale of Marché Restaurants Schweiz AG.

The transaction is subject to Swiss Competition Commission approval. Marché Restaurants outside Switzerland and the Mövenpick Restaurants in Basel, Zurich, Lucerne and Chiasso are outside the scope of the transaction. Marché Restaurants Schweiz AG operates 25 restaurants at 20 rest stops, and another three at Zurich Airport. It is thus the market leader in Swiss concession gastronomy. Marché’s turnover in Switzerland exceeded CHF 120 mio. in 2012. Mövenpick is a Swiss group of companies with global presence. Its core competency lies in the hospitality business with a focus on gastronomy, hotels, wine and premium branded products.

IPO Cembra Money Bank

On 30 October 2013, Cembra Money Bank AG (formerly GE Money Bank AG) listed its shares on the SIX Swiss Exchange. In connection with the IPO, the controlling shareholder, GE Capital Swiss Funding AG, a subsidiary of General Electric Inc., USA, publicly sold a majority stake in the company. The issue price was set at CHF 51 per share. The market capitalisation of Cembra Money Bank amounts to approx. CHF 1.5 bn.

Ex-parte measures Lindt & Sprüngli vs. Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund and Chocolat Frey AG entirely lifted

With decision of October 25, 2013, the President of the Commercial Court in St. Gallen lifted the ex-parte injunction prohibiting advertising and sale of gold-wrapped bears on the grounds that Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund and Chocolat Frey were first in commercialising a gold-wrapped bear during the Christmas season.

High Court of Nidwalden lifts ex-parte injunction obtained by private TV broadcaster 3+ with immediate effect

The High Court of Nidwalden set aside the ex-parte injunction sought by the TV broadcaster 3+ prohibiting publication of the data of the Mediapulse TV panel. The decision has immediate effect. Hence, the data on the audience share may now be published. The board of Mediapulse will decide on the timing of publication in the coming days.
