Philipp Habegger is a partner specializing in litigation and arbitration. He has acted in more than one hundred international arbitrations under a variety of applicable arbitration rules and substantive laws both as counsel and arbitrator. He is listed as a top practitioner in the field in peer-reviewed publications (Chambers Europe 2011: band 1 as arbitration counsel, band 2 as arbitrator and litigation counsel; PLC Which lawyer?; Who is Who in Commercial Arbitration 2010) and is a frequent speaker and panel member at international arbitration conferences worldwide. Philipp Habegger has the distinct honour of being a Court Member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration and the Arbitration Committee of the Swiss Rules of International Arbitration. He is a former Vice Chair of the Arbitration Committee of the International Bar Association. He also represents parties before Swiss state courts in commercial disputes and provides advice on the recognition and enforcement of international arbitral awards and foreign judgements in Switzerland.
Born in 1964, Philipp Habegger was educated at Zurich University (lic. iur. 1989, Dr. iur. 1996) and University of Chicago Law School (LL.M. 1994). He has working experience as a District Court law clerk and as attorney at Zurich and New York law firms. Philipp Habegger teaches international arbitration and international sales at the University of Zurich Law School and acts as a course director at the Swiss Arbitration Academy.
Philipp Habegger speaks German, English and French. He is registered with the Zurich Bar Registry and admitted to practice in all Switzerland.
