Roland von Büren is counsel at Walder Wyss. His practice focuses on corporate and group of companies law, intellectual property, antitrust and competition law. He also serves as expert.
Born in 1944, Roland von Büren was educated at the University of Berne (lic. iur. 1970, Dr. iur. 1971) and Columbia University Law School. For more than 20 years Roland von Büren worked in various functions (head of legal department, head of European subsidiaries, head strategic planning and management development) as well as member of the board of management for an international group of companies in Switzerland, the United States and France. From 1992 to 2009 he was Professor for commercial law, intellectual property and competition law as well as Director for the Institute of Economic Law at the University of Berne. From 1998 to 2002 Roland von Büren served as President of the Swiss Competition Commission. From 1997 to 2009 he was chairman of the board of directors of Valiant Holding Ltd.
Roland von Büren speaks German, French and English. He is registered with the Berne Bar Registry and admitted to practice in all Switzerland.
