We recognise our responsibility - not only to our clients and employees but also to society at large. As part of our commitment to creating a positive impact, we actively engage in a range of social initiatives, supporting projects on both a regular and ad hoc basis through direct legal support, mentoring programmes, or financial contributions.
Our lawyers are deeply committed to pro bono work, using their legal expertise to make a meaningful impact across Switzerland. Through skilled volunteering, our lawyers support vulnerable groups, including children with disabilities and unaccompanied minors, ensuring they receive the legal protection they need. Beyond legal representation and helping organisations navigate complex legal landscapes, we lend our expertise to charities active in the sports and cultural sector.
In 2023, our Partners, Managing Associates, and Counsel contributed on average at least 20 hours to pro bono initiatives
Even in small decisions, we prioritise impact – we are currently transitioning from physical to electronic greeting cards, with the saved printing and postage costs being redirected to social projects. Through these initiatives, we continue to make a meaningful contribution to society at large.
Pro bono advice
One of our contributions to pro bono work is the involvement of our Partner Robert von Rosen, who serves as a foundation board member of the GSR Foundation and is actively engaged in several committees advocating for the interests of individuals with language acquisition and communication disorders, hearing impairments and autism.
The GSR is an interdisciplinary, educational-therapeutic centre dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, and young adults with these challenges. The centre comprises the Audiological Education Service, which includes bilingual training, the speech therapy school, and the autism centre. Through these programs, the GSR provides comprehensive support and specialised services to help individuals overcome their challenges and achieve their full potential.
Robert von Rosen's advocacy work at the GSR is a testament to our firm's dedication to supporting vulnerable groups and promoting equal opportunities for all.
Christmas donation
For years, Walder Wyss has been committed to supporting non-profit organizations through its annual Christmas donations. In recent years, for example, we have supported initiatives such as Verein Hörschatz, which creates audio biographies for children in families where a parent has an incurable illness, providing lasting memories and comfort, and the Association Romande des Familles d’Enfants atteints d’un Cancer (ARFEC), which assists families of children with cancer during and after treatment in the French-speaking cantons.
