When Rivals Talk: Navigating the Fine Line of Information Exchange in M&A and Other Cooperation Set-ups
Wednesday, 11 June 2025 17:00 – 20:30Marcello Caramazza will give a presentation regarding information exchange between competitors, especially in the context of M&A transactions and other cooperation set-ups, such as R&D agreements or other joint initiatives. The discussion will focus on the risks from an antitrust perspective and possible mitigation measures. Amalia Athanasiadou and Monique Sturny will facilitate the workshop. Participants will be able to actively engage in the discussions and exchange practical experiences in assessing and mitigating competition law risks.
Marcello Caramazza is the Head of Antitrust at Clariant, where he oversees all antitrust-related matters on a global scale. During his tenure at Clariant, Marcello has played a pivotal role in international M&A transactions, negotiating antitrust-related clauses of deal agreements and coordinating merger and FDI filings. Prior to joining Clariant, he worked at international law firms in Brussels, where he advised clients on a wide range of antitrust issues, with a particular focus on merger filings, antitrust investigations and antitrust compliance matters. Marcello holds a Master's degree from the Catholic University of Milan and an LLM from the College of Europe in Bruges.
