Caroline Gaul is an attorney in the Information Technology, Data Protection and Intellectual Property Team. She advises and represents especially companies in the IT, social media, electronic commerce, banking and healthcare sectors on all questions of information and technology law as well as data protection law. Her practice focuses on the drafting of license agreements and ongoing advice on all data protection issues, in particular on the General Data Protection Regulation of the EU. Her advice covers the full life cycle of data and all aspects of data protection compliance, including international data transfer, the use of customer data and the use of employee data.
Caroline Gaul graduated at the University of Passau (First State Examination, 2003), studied at the Capital University Columbus (LL.M., 2004) and completed her legal clerkship in Germany (Second State Examination, 2006). She was admitted to the bar in 2006 (Rechtsanwaltskammer Frankfurt am Main). She has many years of professional experience as a German attorney with a strong focus on IP/IT in a large commercial law firm in Frankfurt am Main. She gained in-depth industry knowledge in the technology sector through several in-house secondments at a global software company. Before Caroline Gaul joined our firm, she worked for a major international commercial law firm in Zurich.
Caroline Gaul speaks German and English. She is registered in accordance with Art. 28 BGFA in the public list of nationals of EU or EFTA member states who are entitled to represent parties before judicial authorities in Switzerland on a permanent basis under their original professional title.
