Florian Gunz Niedermann is a partner at Walder Wyss. Born in 1973, Florian Gunz Niedermann was educated at Zurich University (lic. iur. 2000) and the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LL.M. 2006). Before joining Walder Wyss, he gained working experience as a trainee and law clerk in the District court of Winterthur and as lawyer in another business law firm in Zurich.

Florian Gunz Niedermann’s professional languages are German and English. He also speaks French and has a basic knowledge of Spanish. He is registered with the Zurich Bar Registry and admitted to practice in all Switzerland.

Recordati, an international pharmaceutical group listed on the Italian Stock Exchange, acquires the Swiss pharmaceutical company Pro Farma AG.

GetYourGuide raises USD 50 Mio Series C Round

GetYourGuide, the leading online marketplace for travel activities, announced a USD 50 million financing round led by KKR. The company’s existing investors Spark Capital, Highland Capital Partners and Sunstone, as well as new investors such as Nokia Growth Partners, will join KKR in its investment.

GetYourGuide was founded 2009 in Switzerland and is now headquartered in Berlin. The company is managed by its co-founders, Johannes Reck and Tao Tao, and backed by industry veterans Kees Koolen (former CEO of booking.com) and Fritz Demopoulos (founder of Qunar.com) as well as leading venture capital firms Spark Capital and Highland Capital Partners.

NZZ acquires Moneyhouse

NZZ Media Group acquires itonex AG, the operator of the business information platform Moneyhouse, from its owner Michael Schuler. Moneyhouse is the digital leader in commercial register and company data in Switzerland. The site is one of the ten most visited Swiss commercial websites and records over two million visitors per month.

EQT invests in self-service bakery business BackWerk

A private equity fund of EQT has acquired a majority shareholding in the self-service bakery BackWerk from the two founders and managing partners. EQT is a leading private equity group with portfolio companies in northern and eastern Europe, Asia and the US. The consummation of the transaction is subject to customary approval by the relevant competition authorities.

BackWerk Group, founded in Essen (GER) in 2003, is among the largest bakery chains in Germany with total sales of EUR 162 million in 2012 and includes 300 stores and 220 franchise partners in Europe.

Walder Wyss AG has acted as legal advisor to EQT and lead counsel King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin with respect to all Swiss law related aspects of the transaction.
