Born in 1983, Jessica Aeschbach Flórez studied at the University of Fribourg (BLaw 2005, MLaw 2006), where she obtained in 2012 the doctorate degree (Peter Jäggi Foundation Award 2011/2012, Professor Walther Hug Award 2013) and worked as a research and teaching assistant of Prof. Franz Werro and Prof. Walter A. Stoffel (2006-2010). Jessica Aeschbach Flórez was admitted to the bar in 2012, after having worked as a trainee lawyer at a leading law firm in Basel and at the Civil Court of Basel-City. Before joining Walder Wyss, Jessica Aeschbach Flórez worked as Attorney at Law in the tax team of a leading law firm in Zurich (2013-2015).

Cellestia Biotech AG: CHF 20 million Series A financing round

Walder Wyss advises FC Capital Fund I, L.P., Shanghai, as investor in connection with Cellestia's recent financing round. Cellestia was founded in 2014 as a spin-off from EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne). Its pipeline including lead candidate, oral small molecule CB-103 is based on proprietary know-how and more than two decades of research at Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research (ISREC) at EPFL.

Walder Wyss advises BiomedPartners AG as Lead Investor in connection with TOLREMO’s Series A Financing Round. TOLREMO was founded as an ETH spin-off on ground-breaking scientific discoveries in the field of drug resistance in cancer. The Financing Round was subscribed by BioMedPartners, Redalpine and Altos Venture as well as existing shareholders.

Nouscom AG EUR 42 Mio. Series B Financing Round

Walder Wyss advises Abingworth and 5AM Venture on Nouscom’s Series B financing round. Nouscom is active in the development of tumor specific oncolytic viruses and patient specific cancer vaccines. The financing round was subscribed by Abingworth and 5AM Venture as well as by existing shareholders.

Acino divests its patch business to Luye Pharma Group Ltd.

Luye Pharma Group Ltd. has entered into an agreement to acquire the TDS business from Acino, through the purchase of the entire issued share capital of Acino AG and Acino Supply AG for EUR 245,000,000. The target group is a Europe based global leader in advanced transdermal drug delivery systems (TDS) and is one of the largest independent TDS manufacturers in Europe. Closing is expected to occur in the second half of 2016.

Walder Wyss comprehensively advised Luye Pharma regarding the Swiss law aspects of this transaction. The team was led by Alexander Gutmans (Partner, Corporate/M&A) and Robert von Rosen (Managing Associate, Corporate) and also included Dirk Spacek (Associate, IP/IT) and Jessica Aeschbach Flórez (Associate, Corporate).
