Michael Schmassmann is an associate in the Information Technology, Intellectual Property and Competition Team. His preferred areas of practice include competition law, distribution law, information and technology law as well as data protection law. He specializes in technology transfers and IP-related antitrust law. He represents clients in proceedings before competition authorities and courts and advises on questions of contract drafting.
Michael Schmassmann studied economics (B.A. HSG, 2014), law and economics (B.A. HSG, 2015) and law (M.A. HSG, 2017) at the University of St. Gallen and completed an Exchange LL.M. at the University of Texas (2016). Before joining Walder Wyss AG, Michael Schmassmann worked as a trainee law clerk at the Cantonal Court of Basel-Landschaft and as a junior associate in a large commercial law firm in Zurich.
Michael Schmassmann's professional languages are German and English. He is registered with the Zurich Bar Registry and admitted to practice in all Switzerland.
