Coronavirus: Federal Council specifies use of the Covid certificate

21 May 2021 – Everyone in Switzerland should have access to the Covid certificate. With this proof for vaccinated, recovered and negatively tested persons, large events should be possible again and places with an increased risk of infection such as discotheques and clubs should be able to reopen. In addition, it may be required for international travel. At its meeting on 19 May, the Federal Council discussed the use of the certificate and set the direction for the consultation of the cantons, the social partners and the parliamentary commissions. The certificate is not to be used in everyday places such as public transport, schools, shops or workplaces. The use of the certificate is not planned for restaurants, cinemas or events with less than 1000 people.
