Coronavirus: The Confederation secures vaccine supply for 2023
25 March 2022 – At its meeting on 11 March 2022, the Federal Council approved the procurement plan for Covid 19 vaccines for 2023. The primary goal is to ensure the supply of the population in all pandemic scenarios. For 2023, seven million vaccine doses each will be procured from Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna, with options for a further seven million doses each. In addition, the Federal Council has decided to support the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness innovation (CEPI) with a further ten million Swiss francs. For the procurement of Covid 19 medicines, the Federal Council is requesting a supplementary credit from parliament.
