EMA: Clinical Trials Information System designated as WHO primary registry

1 April 2025 – The Clinical Trials Information System (CTIS) was designated as a primary registry by the World Health Organization (WHO). This designation means that CTIS adheres to specific criteria regarding content, data quality and validity, accessibility, unique identification, technical capacity, and administration. It ensures that comprehensive research information is available and accessible to healthcare decision-makers around the world. WHO’s primary registries meet the criteria and standards set by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
