10 April 2025 – Following its initialling on 2 April 2025 (see our news release here), the Federal Council approved the EU Programmes Agreement (EUPA) along with its associated protocols on education, research, innovation and health at its meeting on 9 April 2025 and authorised Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin to sign the agreement.

The EUPA will be provisionally applied from the date of signature until ratification or until 31 December 2028 at the latest. However, Swiss participation in the EU4Health programme will be possible as soon as the bilateral health agreement comes into effect as part of the overall Switzerland-EU package.
