30 April 2025 – The Federal Council has approved the change of the tariff structure in its meeting on 30 April 2025. The TARMED tariff structure, which has remained unchanged for around 20 years, will be replaced on 1 January 2026 by the TARDOC individual service tariff structure and a tariff structure with outpatient flat rates. The introduction of the new overall tariff system is a major challenge for the healthcare system and represents a fundamental change in the billing of outpatient medical services. In addition, the two tariff structures need to be improved, particularly regarding the uniformity of certain outpatient flat rates, the minute rates and the utilisation of infrastructure provided for in TARDOC. For these adjustments to be made, the Federal Council's approval is limited until 31 December 2028.
