23 September 2025 – In Switzerland, the average health insurance premium will be CHF 393.30 per month in 2026, which is an increase of 4.4% or CHF 16.60 per month compared to the year 2025. This is in line with the expected growth in healthcare costs. Reasons for this increase include the ageing population, new treatment options, rising demand for healthcare services and tariff increases in the inpatient as well as the outpatient sectors. Since premiums are a burden for many households, the federal council will continue working with the relevant stakeholders to curb costs in the healthcare system.
