FOPH: Federal Council Launches Consultation on Amendment to the Health Insurance Oversight Ordinance

The Federal Council has submitted the draft amendment to the Health Insurance Oversight Ordinance (Krankenversicherungsaufsichtsverordnung, KVAV) for consultation. The amendment aims to allow insurers to provide targeted information to insured persons about more cost-effective services, more suitable special insurance models or preventive measures. In addition, the cantons are to receive compensation for excessive premium revenues, provided that the premiums were entirely financed through public funds.
