FOPH: Amendments to the Ordinance on Healthcare Benefits

4 December 2025

The Federal Department of Home Affairs has approved various amendments to the Ordinance on Healthcare Benefits (Krankenpflege-Leistungsverordnung, KLV). This ordinance governs the reimbursement of services by compulsory health insurance. From 1 July 2026, for instance, compulsory health insurance will cover digital therapy services for depression. The costs of transcatheter aortic valve implantation will also continue to be covered for low-risk patients aged 75 or over. However, the planned amendment to the reimbursement of artificial nutrition has been postponed until 1 January 2027.
