FOPH: International Survey on Primary Care Shows Satisfaction of Most Swiss Doctors

29 January 2026

The 2025 annual international health policy survey, conducted by the Commonwealth Fund (CWF), found that nine out of ten physicians rate the overall performance of the Swiss healthcare system as good or very good, the highest score among all countries surveyed. Almost eight in ten doctors in Switzerland report being quite to very satisfied with their profession. However, the survey also found that fewer than half of those surveyed expressed satisfaction with their workload and work-life balance. In addition, the age structure of doctors in primary care is disproportionate, with almost half of them being 55 years of age or older.
