The Accelerating Clinical Trials in the EU (ACT EU) initiative has released a draft guidance document on conducting clinical trials during public health emergencies, which is currently open for stakeholder consultation until 30 April 2026. The document aligns with the EU’s current legislative framework and guidance developed following the COVID-19 pandemic, recommending a harmonised approach to ensure trials can be started, adapted and continued efficiently during emergencies.
