Managing Associate
Rafal Szala is a managing associate in the Banking & Finance Team. He advises clients in connection with finance, restructuring and M&A transactions and more generally in banking, stock exchange and capital market law. Rafal Szala has been advising on various complex cross-border and national finance and M&A transactions in Germany and Switzerland involving large multinational clients. In finance, he focuses on corporate debt finance, acquisition finance and securitisations, as well as on questions regarding the Swiss and European banking supervisory law.
Rafal Szala studied at the Humboldt University of Berlin (First State Law Exam, 2008) and the University of Wroclaw. After graduation, Rafal Szala taught at the Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main. He was admitted to the German Bar in 2015. Prior to joining Walder Wyss in 2018, Rafal Szala worked as a lawyer in German and international law firms in London and Frankfurt.
Rafal Szala speaks German, English and Polish. He is admitted to the Swiss and German Bar.
