15 aprile 2022 – At its meeting on 13 April 2022, the Federal Council approved the extension of the "Radium Action Plan 2015-2022" until the end of 2023. This extension is necessary because the work has been delayed due to the Covid 19 pandemic. This will allow all buildings and gardens identified as potentially radium contaminated to be investigated and decontaminated as necessary by the end of 2023. Radium was used by the watch industry until the 1960s.
