The New Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner will take office on 1 June 2016

30 March 2016 – As we have reported (see our news dated 16.03.2016), the Swiss Federal Assembly has approved the election of Adrian Lobsiger as the new Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner („Commissioner“) on 16 March 2016. Adrian Lobsiger will take office on 1 June 2016. Until Adrian Lobsiger will assume his new function, Jean-Philippe Walter (formerly deputy of Adrian Lobsiger’s predecessor Hanspeter Thür) heads the Commissioner’s office ad interim.
