Canopius redomiciled from Switzerland to Bermuda and Jersey

18 November 2019 – Canopius, the global speciality (re)insurer redomiciled its FINMA licensed reinsurance company Canopius Reinsurance Ltd from Switzerland to Bermuda and, subsequently, its Swiss holding company Canopius Ltd to Jersey where it has been renamed to Canopius Holding Ltd.

Walder Wyss acted as Swiss legal counsel on these redomestications. The team was lead by Markus Pfenninger (Partner, Transactions/Regulatory) and included Urs Gnos (Partner, Corporate/M&A), Ueli Sommer (Partner, Employment), Olivia Feusi (Senior Associate, Corporate/M&A), André Kuhn (Managing Associate, Corporate&Commerical) and Nico Bernhard (Corporate/M&A).
