Monique Sturny appointed as Non-Governmental Advisor to the International Competition Network (ICN)

12 November 2020 – The Swiss Competition Commission has appointed Monique Sturny as Non-Governmental Advisor to the International Competition Network (ICN) for the next three years. The ICN is a network of more than 100 competition agencies worldwide with the common goal of addressing practical antitrust enforcement and policy issues. The main objective of the ICN is to improve and advocate for sound competition policy and its enforcement across the global antitrust community. The ICN seeks to promote pro-competitive and efficiency-enhancing conduct as well as to develop and foster procedural and substantive benchmarks. Such benchmarks can serve as a model for governments and competition agencies looking to reform their current practices or to develop new laws and policies. Monique Sturny is currently a managing associate and incoming partner as per 2021 in Walder Wyss’ competition team and has extensive experience in the area of Swiss and European competition law, distribution law as well as data law. She advises Swiss and international companies in these practice areas, assists them with respect to setting up compliance programmes and distribution systems and represents clients before authorities and courts. She has experience across a wide range of sectors, with particular in-depth knowledge in the healthcare sector and legal issues in digital markets.
