Organ donation: Federal Council and Parliament in favor of objection solution with inclusion of relatives
25 February 2022 – The Federal Council and Parliament want to increase patients' chances of receiving an organ and therefore revise the regulation of organ donation : Those who do not wish to donate their organs must explicitly state it during their lifetime (objection solution). On 15 May 2022, voters will decide on a corresponding amendment to the Transplantation Act. It also regulates that relatives can refuse an organ donation if they know or suspect that the person concerned would have decided against it. A referendum was held against the law.
