Confederation and cantons launch monitoring of the implementation of the long-term care initiative

9 June 2023 – The Confederation and the cantons have decided to take a further step towards implementing the care initiative. A national monitoring of nursing staff is to measure from mid-2024 whether the measures to implement the nursing initiative are having an effect and contributing to improving the nursing situation in Switzerland. This was decided by the "Dialogue on National Health Policy" of the Confederation and cantons at its meeting on 1 June 2023. In addition, the Confederation and the cantons exchanged views on the further training of doctors.
