22 September 2023 – The average health insurance premium for 2024 will be 359.50 francs per month, marking a 28.70 franc increase (8.7 percent) compared to 2023. The steep rise is primarily due to escalating costs. These have increased more than expected since the second half of 2021 and especially this year. More doctor visits, more outpatient hospital services, more and more expensive medications have led to these high costs. Cost containment therefore remains a key task for all players to ensure that healthcare services remain affordable for the population.
