24 November 2023 – Starting from a specific annual income threshold, individuals employed as athletes or coaches in amateur sports clubs will now only be subject to mandatory accident insurance if their annual income exceeds a certain level. The aim is to financially ease the burden on amateur sports clubs. During its meeting on 22 November 2023, the Federal Council approved the amendment to the Ordinance on Accident Insurance (UVV). The amendment will come into effect on 1 July 2024.
