The government includes preventive measures against breast and ovarian cancer in the basic health insurance benefits catalog

8 December 2023 – Starting from 2024, the compulsory health insurance (Obligatorische Krankenpflegeversicherung, OKP) will cover the costs for preventive breast and ovarian removal surgeries for specific high-risk genes. This aims to prevent breast and ovarian cancer in individuals with significantly elevated risks for these conditions.
