26 mai 2022 – The Federal Council wants to counter the shortage of nursing personnel with a training offensive. The training of nurses is to be supported by the Confederation and the cantons with up to one billion Swiss francs over eight years. In addition, nursing professionals are to be able to charge certain services directly to the social insurance funds. With these measures, an important part of the care initiative is to be implemented quickly. They were already included in the indirect counterproposal to the care initiative, which is why the Federal Council has dispensed with a renewed consultation. It adopted the dispatch for the attention of parliament at its meeting on 25 May 2022.
