29 septembre 2023 – The Federal Council has decided to extend the transitional periods for the certification of medical devices in accordance with the corresponding regulation of the European Union under certain conditions. This is intended to preserve the security of supply of medical devices in Switzerland. At its meeting on 29 September 2023, the Federal Council adopted the necessary amendments to the Medical Devices Ordinance (MedDO) and the Ordinance on In Vitro Diagnostic Medical (IvDO). These amendments will enter into force on 1 November 2023.
