4. Februar 2021 – At a meeting of EMA’s human medicines committee (CHMP), the expert panel decided to recommend granting a conditional marketing authorization in the EU for AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine. The authorization applies to all persons over 18 years. Currently, within the studies conducted so far, there were not enough results from older participants (over 55 years of age) for a statement on how well the vaccine works in this group. The expert group, however, expects protection, since an immune response is seen in this age group and experience with other vaccines is available. Three COVID-19 vaccines are now authorized in the EU.
