3. Juni 2021 – Currently, the compulsory health insurance (OKP) only provides for a separate reimbursement for materials used by patients directly or with the help of non-professionally assisting persons and which are listed in the list of means and objects (MiGeL). However, no separate remuneration is envisaged for nursing materials used by nursing staff in nursing homes and outpatient care. However, the health insurers are now to assume the financing of the nursing materials, regardless of whether they are used by a nursing professional or not. This was decided by Parliament in December 2020. The Federal Council adopted the necessary ordinance amendments at its meeting on 4 June 2021. The regulation will come into force on 1 October 2021.
