6. Juli 2022 – Since the meineimpfungen.ch platform was taken offline in March 2021 due to serious security flaws, the FOPH has been looking for a way to return the vaccination data to users in compliance with legal and data protection requirements. However, the FOPH has no legal basis for returning the data. In May, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) had advised the definitive destruction of the remaining vaccination data. However, the FOPH will now participate in a preliminary project to evaluate whether it is possible to return the vaccination data to the users of the platform. This preliminary project is being carried out by the eHealth community Aargau on behalf of the canton of Aargau and in coordination with the FDPIC. The result will serve as a basis for deciding whether and how to return the data. In addition, a proposal is also being developed on how citizens can transfer their vaccination data to the electronic patient dossier (Elektronisches Patientendossier, EPD).
