6. Oktober 2023 – Many consumers of designer drugs are not aware of their health risks. From 9 October 2023, the Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA) is prohibiting a further ten individual substances and one substance group to tackle the misuse of new synthetic substances as narcotics. The amendment of the Ordinance on the Lists of Narcotics, Psychotropic Substances, Precursors and Auxiliary Chemicals will make these psychoactive substances equivalent to narcotics. Their manufacture, trade and use will be illegal and subject to penalties under the Federal Act on Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances.
