Swiss Health Survey 2022 - Changes in Mental Stress

10. November 2023 – In 2022, 85% of the Swiss population aged 15 and over reported feeling healthy, and 83% reported feeling happy. At the same time, more than a third of the population is living with a chronic health issue. Mental stress levels have increased compared to 2017, with the 15- to 24-year-old age group, particularly young women, being the most affected. The percentage of smokers has decreased from 27% in 2017 to 24%. Alternative products such as e-cigarettes are being consumed notably by young adults. There have been changes in alcohol consumption patterns. These are key findings from the "Swiss Health Survey 2022" by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
