Walder Wyss advised on the setup of the Open Brain Institute
13. Mai 2025 – The Open Brain Institute (OBI) - a revolutionary non-profit organization dedicated to advancing neuroscience from the physical realm into the virtual world was launched in March 2025. Building upon the groundbreaking work of the EPFL Blue Brain Project - A Swiss Brain Initiative, OBI opens the era of simulation neuroscience - empowering researchers to build and simulate digital brains with unprecedented detail, scale, and speed.
Walder Wyss played a key role in structuring and establishing the OBI Foundation, which hosts the OBI, ensuring a robust legal and organisational framework to support its mission. Our team was led by Vincent Pfammatter (Partner, Philanthropy & corporate) and Alain Alberini (Partner, IP), and included Anaïs Essinger (Associate, IP), Luc Pittet (Partner, Public Law) and Agnès Dubey (Associate, Public Law).
Congrats to the OBI team Henry Markram, Georges Khazen, Jean-Denis Courcol and to their partner Richard Frey (inait)!
