12 June 2019 – On 13 May 2019, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. announced that it has, through its group company Hesse & Partner AG which it acquired in 2018, all shares in VERBAG Versicherungsberater-AG. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. is a global insurance brokerage and risk management services firm headquartered at in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. The firm was established in 1927 and is currently the third largest insurance broker in the world. Founded in 1997, Hesse is a commercial property/casualty broker and consultant offering coverages and risk advisor services primarily to industrial, manufacturing and construction clients with a particular specialism in the waste-to-energy industry.

Walder Wyss Ltd. has been acting as legal advisor to Arthur J. Gallagher & Co with regards to all Swiss contractual, corporate and regulatory aspects of the transaction.
