Mövenpick sells Swiss concession gastronomy to Coop

10 January 2014 – Mövenpick Holding AG has entered into an agreement with Coop Group regarding the sale of Marché Restaurants Schweiz AG.


The transaction is subject to Swiss Competition Commission approval. Marché Restaurants outside Switzerland and the Mövenpick Restaurants in Basel, Zurich, Lucerne and Chiasso are outside the scope of the transaction. Marché Restaurants Schweiz AG operates 25 restaurants at 20 rest stops, and another three at Zurich Airport. It is thus the market leader in Swiss concession gastronomy. Marché’s turnover in Switzerland exceeded CHF 120 mio. in 2012. Mövenpick is a Swiss group of companies with global presence. Its core competency lies in the hospitality business with a focus on gastronomy, hotels, wine and premium branded products.
