Ripple Acquires Crypto Custody Firm Metaco in USD250 Million Deal

16 May 2023 – Walder Wyss advised Ripple on the acquisition of Metaco SA, a provider of digital asset custody and tokenization technology located in Switzerland.

Ripple is the company behind XRP, and it is a payment settlement system and currency exchange network that can process transactions globally. Ripple invested USD250 million of cash to fund the acquisition.

Walder Wyss acted as Swiss legal counsel to Ripple alongside Gunderson Dettmer as its international legal counsel.
