Promotions at Walder Wyss
3 January 2024 – We are pleased to announce that our employees Roger Ammann, Marion Bähler, Marius Breier and Pascale Köster have been appointed as partners in our firm, effective as of 1 January 2024.
Roger Ammann is a partner in Walder Wyss' Banking & Finance Team. He advises banks, other financial institutions and corporate clients on all aspects of finance transactions, capital market transactions and generally on regulatory, corporate law and securities matters. In finance, he focuses on leveraged finance, asset-based finance (including real estate), structured finance, securitisation transactions and bond issuances.
Marion Bähler is a partner in our Corporate/M&A Team. Her preferred areas of practice include M&A, corporate, contract, stock exchange and capital market law. One focus of her work is on private equity and venture capital transactions. She regularly advises start-ups and investors on the entire range of venture capital aspects, including financing rounds, acquisitions, participation plans (ESOPs) and exits. She further advises companies on general corporate law matters, corporate governance and other legal issues surrounding their daily business.
Marius Breier is a partner in Walder Wyss’ Tax Team. He advises clients in the fields of domestic and international corporate tax as well as individual tax. Marius Breier focuses particularly on national and international corporate reorganisations and M&A transactions, transfer pricing as well as international relocations of corporations and private clients. He is also an expert in all tax issues related to the taxation of investment funds, financial products and crypto assets.
Pascale Köster is a partner at Walder Wyss Zurich. She specializes in corporate and regulatory investigations as well as in related criminal, administrative and civil litigation proceedings. She advises both Swiss and foreign clients in local as well as cross-border cases and has special expertise in white collar (fraud, corruption, etc.), healthcare and ESG related cases.
In addition, Fabienne Anner, Sylvia Anthamatten, Marco Galli, Samuel Lieberherr, Sophie Püschel-Arnold and Emilia Rebetez have been promoted to Counsel. Roxane Allot, Valerio Caccia, Sonya Figueredo, Dario Galli, Philippe Kohler, Michael Kündig, Timon Nydegger, Florian Roth, Karina Tschon and Alice Vorburger have been promoted to managing associates. All promotions are effective as of 1 January 2024.
Fabienne Anner is counsel in the Corporate/M&A Team. Her practice focuses on domestic and international M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions. In addition, she advises corporate clients on all matters of corporate and commercial law related to their daily operations and supports them regarding corporate governance.
Sylvia Anthamatten is counsel in the Information Technology, Intellectual Property and Competition Team. She advises and represents clients in all aspects of intellectual property law with a particular focus on trademark, copyright, design and unfair competition law, including media and advertising law. She regularly advises clients in negotiating IP and technology-related agreements. Sylvia Anthamatten represents clients in disputes before courts and administrative bodies. She also advises on corporate and commercial law.
Marco Galli is counsel at Walder Wyss in Lugano. He mainly focuses on corporate and commercial law, banking & finance as well as finance services. Moreover, he is active in the fields of employment law and data protection law. He assists individuals and corporate clients both on advisory and litigation matters.
Samuel Lieberherr is counsel in the Corporate/M&A Team. He specializes in domestic and international M&A transactions and advises investors on acquisitions, private equity and venture capital transactions. Others preferred areas of practice include corporate law and reorganisations. Additionally, he advises clients on all matters of business law related to their daily operations and supports them regarding corporate governance and ESG.
Sophie Püschel-Arnold is counsel in the Litigation and Arbitration Team. She advises and represents national and international clients before state courts and arbitral tribunals in all aspects of commercial law. Her main focus is on corporate law litigation, such as post-M&A and shareholder disputes, where she has gained extensive experience and regularly provides pre-litigation advise to shareholders and corporations.
Emilia Rebetez is counsel within the tax department of Walder Wyss. She practices in the field of personal and corporate taxation, in domestic and international matters. She advises corporations and private clients, particularly with financing, national and international reorganisations, cross-border relations as well as M&A and private equity questions. She further has extensive experience advising collective investment vehicles, foundations, charities or financial institutions in tax matters occurring in the frame of their activities.
Roxane Allot is a managing associate in the Dispute Resolution and Arbitration Department of Walder Wyss in Geneva. She represents clients in all type of contractual and commercial disputes and represents both companies and individuals before state courts (civil and criminal) and before arbitral tribunals. Her expertise includes namely contractual, corporate, and banking law as well as white collar crime.
Valerio Caccia is a managing associate at Walder Wyss. His professional practice focuses on real estate, corporate and commercial law, in both advisory and litigation proceedings. In the real estate field, he advises private and institutional clients in the context of real estate transactions, projects and development, as well as in lease law matters. Moreover, he advises corporate clients on all matters of corporate and commercial law, from incorporation to their daily operations, but also in relation to M&A activities (mergers, acquisitions and other transactions). With particular focus on the above-mentioned fields of expertise, he also acts as a notary public in the Canton of Ticino.
Sonya Figueredo is a managing associate within the tax department of Walder Wyss, Geneva. She practices in the field of personal and corporate taxation on both domestic and international level. She assists private clients in the scope of their relocation, asset reorganization, estate planning and real estate transactions. In the field of corporate tax, she provides corporate restructuring advises and tax due diligence, among others. In addition, her practice includes the representation of clients in tax litigation and in the context of tax ruling negotiations with the Swiss tax authorities.
Dario Galli is a managing associate in Walder Wyss's Corporate/M&A Team. His work focuses on contract, commercial, and corporate law as well as employee participation schemes and incentive agreements, and he specializes in private national and international mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions.
Philippe Kohler is a managing associate in our Private Client Team. He represents our clients in domestic and international disputes, mainly in the fields of succession and family law and immigration. He further regularly advises international high-net-worth individuals on asset holding structures, estate planning, relocation and philanthropy.
Michael Kündig is a managing associate in Walder Wyss’s Corporate/M&A Team. He specializes in private M&A- and private equity-transactions. Another focus of his practice is venture capital, advising startups and investors in connection with financing rounds and general contract and corporate law matters. Michael publishes in his areas of practice and is a lecturer at universities of applied sciences in Switzerland.
Timon Nydegger is a managing associate in the Corporate/M&A Team. He specializes in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital transactions as well as incentive schemes for employees (ESOP). In addition, he advises corporate clients, startups and entrepreneurs on all matters of general contract and corporate law.
Florian Roth is a managing associate in the Regulated Markets, Competition, Technology & IP Team. His preferred areas of practice include in particular public and administrative law, public law litigation as well as transactions.
Karina Tschon is managing associate at Walder Wyss in Basel. She advises clients on matters of commercial and corporate law.
Alice Vorburger is a managing associate in the Corporate/M&A Team. Her preferred areas of practice include contract law, corporate and commercial law as well as mergers & acquisitions. She also advises startups with regard to the implementation and financing of their business ideas.
