Spécialiste de l'arbitrage international depuis près de 20 ans, Diana Akikol représente nos clients dans le cadre de procédures arbitrales complexes. Elle siège par ailleurs fréquemment en qualité d'arbitre. Elle a mené des arbitrages ayant leur siège en Suisse, en Europe, au Moyen-Orient et en Asie, sous l'égide des principales institutions arbitrales, ainsi que dans des arbitrages ad hoc. En outre, Diana Akikol conseille et représente nos clients dans des procédures d'annulation ou d'exécution de sentences arbitrales devant les tribunaux suisses.

Sa pratique se concentre sur l'arbitrage commercial, avec un accent particulier sur les fusions et acquisitions, les conventions d'actionnaires et les joint-ventures, ainsi que les grands projets d'infrastructure et de construction. Elle dispose également d'une vaste expérience en matière de vente de marchandises, négoce de matières premières et d’énergie, télécommunications, services d'agence et de conseil, contrats de licence et de distribution (particulièrement dans le secteur pharmaceutique).

Diana Akikol a siégé pendant six ans à la Cour d'arbitrage du Swiss Arbitration Centre (2020-2025) et est actuellement le membre pour la Suisse de la Cour CCI (nommée en juillet 2021). Elle est également membre de la Commission Arbitrage et ADR de la CCI, de sa Task Force sur la corruption, de la Commission d'arbitrage de ICC Switzerland, de la direction de l'Association suisse de l'arbitrage (ASA), ainsi que de la direction du Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC). Elle est par ailleurs co-présidente du groupe Commodities and Mining de l'ASA, et membre du groupe de travail de l'ASA sur le règlement des différends entre investisseurs et Etats.

Reconnue comme une référence éminente dans son domaine, Diana Akikol est recommandée comme étant « simply one of the best », « having acquired unparalleled experience as both an advocate and arbitrator » (Lexology 2024, anciennement Who's Who Legal). Diana Akikol intervient fréquemment comme conférencière et publie régulièrement dans son domaine. Elle est co-auteur d'un commentaire sur le droit suisse de l'arbitrage international et a consacré plusieurs articles à la procédure de recours contre les sentences arbitrales devant le Tribunal fédéral suisse. Elle a également contribué à un commentaire sur la Convention des Nations Unies sur les contrats de vente internationale de marchandises (CVIM). Sa thèse de doctorat est consacrée à la garantie en cas de défauts selon le droit suisse et la CVIM.
Diana Akikol a obtenu sa licence en droit à l'Université de Fribourg en 2000 et son doctorat à l'Université de Lucerne en 2008, tous deux avec la mention summa cum laude. Elle a été admise au barreau en 2002, ayant passé l’examen comme premier brevet de sa promotion.

Diana Akikol parle couramment l'anglais, le français et l'allemand (langue maternelle).
