Steven Winter is specialised in litigation in criminal and civil matters, as well as conducting internal investigations. He advises and represents injured parties, defendants and third parties in white-collar criminal matters and related civil proceedings, in particular in the area of asset recovery and technology-related disputes. His practice also includes advising and assisting individuals and legal entities in internal corporate investigations, in particular in cases of fraud and corruption allegations, suspected misconduct by board members and other sensitive investigations.

Steven Winter studied at the University of Zurich (MLaw 2015). After completing his studies, he worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law, including Economic and Administrative Criminal Law, under Prof. Dr Marc Thommen, where he conducted research in particular on asset confiscation and corruption and bribery. He then completed various internships in the legal profession and with court authorities and most recently worked as a public prosecutor, where he conducted state investigations in all areas of criminal law.

In addition to his work at Walder Wyss, he regularly teaches criminal law at the University of Zurich. He also holds the rank of Major as an investigating judge in the Swiss military justice system, where he also leads a department.

Steven Winter holds a CAS Forensics and was admitted to the bar in 2020 and is registered with the Bar Register of the Canton of Zurich and authorised to conduct litigation throughout Switzerland.
