Promotions at Walder Wyss
3 gennaio 2025 – We are pleased to announce that our employees Téo Genecand, Christian Hagen and Hugh Reeves have been appointed as partners in our firm, effective as of 1 January 2025. In addition, Jamar E. Brown joined our team in Geneva as a partner on 1 January 2025.
Jamar E. Brown is a member of the Dispute Resolution and Private Clients groups in Geneva. He represents international organizations in employment disputes, and advises on internal investigations, disciplinary matters, and appeals. Jamar also specializes in regulatory compliance for trust companies and family offices, helping them to meet global standards with confidence while protecting their interests.
Téo Genecand works as a partner in the Dispute Resolution practice of Geneva. His work covers all forms of commercial disputes. He is also frequently involved in white collar crime matters, estate disputes, enforcement proceedings related to the financial industry as well as asset tracing and recovery matters. He provides strategic advice in pre-litigation phases and acts before civil and criminal Courts.
Christian Hagen advises clients on all questions of contract law, commercial and corporate law as well as health and medical law. He specializes in national and international M&A transactions of non-listed companies (private M&A) - including venture capital and private equity transactions, management buyouts (MBO) and financing rounds. His particular focus is on projects in the healthcare and life sciences. In addition, he advises corporate clients on legal matters related to their daily business, corporate law (foundation, capital increase and change as well as liquidation of all kinds of companies) and on questions of group structuring and financing.
Hugh Reeves is active in the areas of technology transactions, intellectual property, data law and commercial contracts. He provides expert guidance on complex matters pertaining to technology-centric contracts, the structuring and enforcement of IP portfolios, as well as digitalization, AI and Internet regulations. Hugh assists his clients, across all industries, with their successful entry or expansion in the Swiss market. He regularly speaks and publishes in his fields of expertise and participates in national and international professional organizations.
In addition, Angela Diener and Albane Selimi have been promoted to counsel. Kerstin Arnesson, Joffrey Dobosz, Lena Götzinger, Vangelis Kalaitzidakis, Julia Lehner, Nadja D. Leuthardt, Laurent Schmidt, Matthieu Seydoux and Mathieu Zufferey have been promoted to managing associates. All promotions are effective as of 1 January 2025.
Angela Diener is counsel in Walder Wyss's Corporate/M&A-team. Her preferred areas of practice include contract law, corporate and commercial law and she advises clients on national and international M&A-transactions. She specializes in executive compensation in Swiss listed corporations. Angela publishes in her areas of practice.
Albane Selimi works as counsel in the Real Estate Team of Walder Wyss. She advises institutional and private clients in all areas of construction and real estate law and represents clients before courts and the authorities. Her areas of specialization include real estate transactions, construction and real estate-related contract law, tenancy law as well as litigation in construction and real estate disputes.
Kerstin Arnesson is a managing associate in the Litigation and Arbitration Team. She advises national and international clients in all aspects of commercial and business law disputes, with a special focus on purchase and service contracts as well as construction, and represents them before state courts as well as in arbitrations. She is also active in legal assistance matters as well as all aspects of debt enforcement and bankruptcy law, including the enforcement of domestic and foreign judgements as well as the freezing of assets.
Joffrey Dobosz is a managing associate in the Lausanne office of Walder Wyss. He advises Swiss and multinational companies as well as private individuals on all employment-related matters. His areas of practice include the drafting and review of employment contracts and employee regulations, assistance in the hiring and termination of employees, incentive schemes, data protection, social security and pension plans, staff leasing, and competition and solicitation clauses. He also regularly represents clients before Swiss courts and authorities. Additionally, he conducts employment-related internal investigations concerning withe-collar crime and/or suspected misconduct by members of corporate bodies and/or employees.
Lena Götzinger is a managing associate in the Regulated Markets, Competition, Technology and Intellectual Property Team. She advises and represents companies on all questions of information and technology law, including the structuring and negotiation of outsourcing projects, licensing of data and artificial intelligence. Further, she specializes in commercial administrative and public procurement law. She regularly represents domestic and foreign companies as well as the public sector in complex proceedings before Swiss authorities and courts.
Vangelis Kalaitzidakis is a managing associate in the Tax Team. As an attorney at law and certified tax expert he advises individual and corporate clients in all matters of tax law. His preferred areas of practice include national and international corporate tax law such as reorganizations, acquisitions and divestments as well as relocations of companies and related advise to entrepreneurs.
Julia Lehner is a managing associate in the Real Estate Team of Walder Wyss in Zurich. She specialises in construction and real estate law and advises clients in all aspects of real estate law, particularly in real estate transactions, tenancy law and private and public construction law. Her areas of practice include amongst other things the drafting and negotiation of agreements (in particular of property purchase, construction and lease agreements as well as ground lease and easement agreements), the performance of legal due diligences regarding real properties and development/construction projects as well as the representation of clients in real estate disputes.
Nadja D. Leuthardt works as a managing associate at Walder Wyss. She specialises in real estate law and advises institutional and private clients in the areas of public and private construction law, tenancy law and property law (including condominium ownership). In addition to advising on real estate related contracts, her areas of expertise include litigation in construction, landlord and tenant as well as other real estate related disputes. She also advises on general contract law. Nadja advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Laurent Schmidt is a managing associate in the Corporate/M&A Department of Walder Wyss in Geneva. He advises Swiss and foreign clients in corporate law, as well as in banking and financial market law. He specializes in advising companies on mergers, acquisitions and private equity transactions, and also represents clients in all type of contractual and commercial disputes.
Matthieu Seydoux is a managing associate in the Lausanne office of Walder Wyss. He advises and represents Swiss and international clients and the public sector mainly in commercial and arbitration litigation and in all areas of construction and real estate (real estate transactions, drafting contracts, environmental and sustainability matters, Lex Koller, public procurement, etc.). He also advises on and litigates in certain regulated markets and complex administrative procedures, particularly in the healthcare and energy sectors.
Mathieu Zufferey is a managing associate in the Dispute Resolution and Arbitration Department of Walder Wyss in Geneva. He assists and represents clients in the fields of commercial and contractual litigation, enforcement and bankruptcy proceedings, primarily before state courts. Mathieu has strong experience in complex national and cross-border procedures, particularly in contract law, banking law, distribution and service contracts. His practice also extends to advisory services and drafting in contractual matters. He holds a PhD in law and is the author of publications and conferences in his areas of expertise.
