Laura Luongo is an associate in our Private Clients team. Her expertise includes succession, family, immigration and employment law. She regularly advises international high-net-worth individuals on asset holding structures, estate planning, relocation and philanthropy. She also advises and represents our clients in litigation matters, primarily complex cross-border succession litigation and employment disputes.

Laura Luongo graduated in 2008 from the University of Lausanne, where she obtained a Master of Laws degree (MLaw, summa cum laude). From 2009 to 2011, she worked as legal counsel to the office of a public notary in Montreux. Prior to joining Walder Wyss, she worked in the litigation team, respectively private clients team, of two other leading Swiss law firms in Geneva.

Laura Luongo speaks French and English and has also good knowledge of Italian. Laura Luongo is registered with the Geneva bar and is permitted to practice before all Swiss courts.

Initiative & Finance and Capital Transmission enter in the capital of INOMED Technology SA Courtelary

On 27 September 2018, Initiative & Finance, a leading French private equity player, dedicated to the financing and the transmission of SMEs in France, Belgium and Switzerland, and Capital Transmission, an investment company founded in 2008 belonging to the Geneva Cantonal Bank and the objective of which is to financially assist companies and entrepreneurs, have invested in the capital of INOMED Technology SA Courtelary. 

Walder Wyss advised Initiative & Finance on this transaction. The team was led by Hubertus Hillerström (Partner, Corporate/M&A) and further included Fouad G. Sayegh (Partner, Tax), Lara Alec (Associate, Corporate/M&A) et Laura Luongo (Associate, Employment). 


Launch of komgo SA : Industry players and banks join forces to launch blockchain platform to transform commodities trade finance

On 19 September 2018, fifteen of the world’s largest institutions, including banks, trading companies, an inspection company and an energy major have announced the formation of a new venture known as komgo SA, that will seek to digitalise the trade and commodities finance sector through a blockchain based open platform.  

The founders of this new company, managed and operated as an independent entity, include companies from: ABN AMRO, BNP Paribas, Citi, Crédit Agricole Group, Gunvor, ING, Koch Supply & Trading, Macquarie, Mercuria, MUFG Bank, Natixis, Rabobank, Shell, SGS and Societe Generale.  

The launch of komgo SA highlights a shared vision for industry innovation and underlines the ongoing commitment among members to build a truly open and more efficient network within commodity trading. 

komgo SA has been incorporated in Geneva, one of the main worldwide commodity-based clusters, and benefits from the strong support of the Canton de Genève.

E.CF S.A.S. acquires majority interest in Andy Mannhart AG

On 16 July 2018, E.CF S.A.S., the European leader in the distribution of small equipment and consumables to professionals in the hospitality and catering sectors, acquired a majority interest in Andy Mannhart AG. With this acquisition, E.CF S.A.S. continues its international expansion strategy, adding an important Swiss player to its already broad network of international subsidiaries. 

Walder Wyss has advised E.CF S.A.S. on the transaction.
