Irene Suter-Sieber is a Partner in the Zurich office of Walder Wyss. She co-leads the firm’s Employment, Incentives, Mobility & Pensions team and is a Certified Specialist SBA Employment Law.

She advises local and global businesses across a wide range of industries on all aspects of employment law, from representing clients in complex tribunal proceedings to managing large-scale redundancy and restructuring projects, and sensitive HR matters. Irene is widely recognised for her extensive expertise in employment litigation, transfers of undertakings (TUPE), restrictive covenants, international employee transfers, staff leasing, conduct and performance issues, whistleblowing and grievance procedures, as well as employment-related social security and data protection matters. She regularly lectures and publishes in these areas.

In 2006, Irene completed both her law degree (lic. iur.) at the University of Zurich and her piano performance degree at the Zurich University of the Arts. She was admitted to the bar in 2009 and obtained her doctorate from the University of Zurich in 2012 (summa cum laude), for which she was awarded the Prof. Walther Hug Prize and the Issekutz Prize. She has been practising as an attorney since 2012.

Irene speaks German, English and French. She is registered with the Zurich Bar Association and is a member of the International Bar Association. From 2021 to 2024, she served on the Executive Board of Walder Wyss as Hiring Partner. Since 2022, she has also served, on a pro bono basis, as a judge of the Disciplinary Court of the Zurich Bar Association.
