Simone Wetzstein is Co-Head of the Employment Law Team at Walder Wyss and has been advising clients with dedication and clarity for over a decade. «Her broad and creative thinking allows her to navigate complex situations with innovative solutions. She demonstrates exceptional cleverness and adaptility.» - Chambers Europe Guide 2025

Her practice also includes advising on staff leasing matters, as well as supporting clients in obtaining work and residence permits. Simone Wetzstein regularly represents clients in court and has built extensive expertise in employment-related aspects of social security law. A particular focus of her work lies in tackling discrimination and advancing gender equality.

Simone Wetzstein studied law at the Universities of Zurich and Haifa and was supported during her studies by the Swiss Study Foundation. She was admitted to the bar in 2013 and is a Certified Specialist SBA Employment Law. As a Fulbright Scholar, she deepened her knowledge of discrimination law and mediation at Columbia Law School in New York, where she earned her LL.M. in 2017. She also shares her expertise through teaching in the CAS Best Practice Employment Law at ZHAW.

She has been a lawyer at Walder Wyss since 2013. Before joining the firm, she trained in a major Zurich law firm and at the Administrative Court of Aarau. For many years, she also served as director of the Winterthurer Musikfestwochen —bringing together her love for law, culture, and organisation.

Simone Wetzstein practises in both German and English and also speaks French and Hebrew. She is registered with the Zurich Bar Registry and admitted to practise throughout Switzerland.

Beyond her professional life, Simone is the mother of three children—a role that constantly inspires her perspective on fairness, balance, and human connection in the world of work.
