Curriculum Vitae
Matthieu Seydoux is a managing associate in the Lausanne office of Walder Wyss. He advises and represents Swiss and international clients and the public sector mainly in commercial and arbitration litigation and in all areas of construction and real estate (real estate transactions, drafting contracts, environmental and sustainability matters, Lex Koller, public procurement, etc.). He also advises on and litigates in certain regulated markets and complex administrative procedures, particularly in the healthcare and energy sectors. He speaks at conferences, publishes in his areas of expertise and runs in-house training courses.
Before joining Walder Wyss, he completed his lawyer’s traineeship with a boutique law firm specialising in business law. He has also worked at the clerk of a Cantonal Court in the area of construction law, acted as secretary to an arbitrator in a number of commercial arbitration proceedings, held a jurisdictional position as Vice-Chairman of the Federal Compulsory Curchase Commission 2, and worked for the Federal Office for the Environment and the Institute for Swiss and International Construction Law.
Matthieu Seydoux graduated from the Universities of Fribourg (BLaw) and Zurich (MLaw). He obtained a PhD in energy and competition law from the University of Fribourg (summa cum laude). He completed an LL.M. in European competition law in Brussels, at the Brussels School of Competition, and studied European pharmaceutical law in Cambridge. He is currently completing the certification as a SBA specialist (Swiss Bar Association) in Real Estate and Construction Law.
Matthieu Seydoux works in French, German and English. He is registered as a lawyer in the Canton of Vaud and is a member of the Ordre des avocats vaudois (OAV), the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA) and the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA).
