Hugh Reeves is an associate in the Information Technology, Intellectual Property and Competition Team. His preferred areas of practice include technology transfers, copyright, patent, trademark and trade secret law as well as information technology law. Born in 1987, Hugh Reeves was educated at the Universities of Lausanne (BLaw, 2008, magna cum laude; MLaw, 2010, summa cum laude) and Geneva (Ecole d'Avocature – Geneva Bar School, 2011). Hugh was admitted to the Geneva Bar in 2013. Prior to joining Walder Wyss, he worked for a boutique law firm in Geneva specializing in banking law and IT law. He also worked for an international auditing company and was a clerk of the Juvenile Court of the Canton of Vaud. In addition, he gained work experience as a foreign associate in the technology transactions and licensing team of a leading Silicon Valley law firm.

The Metall Zug Group has signed an agreement to acquire 70% of Haag-Streit Holding AG, based in Köniz, Switzerland. The transaction is expected to be consummated during the first quarter of 2018.
Haag-Streit is a leading medical technology company in the fields of ophthalmology (diagnostics & surgical microscopy), pulmonology and optics. The Haag-Streit Group comprises more than twenty companies in Europe, America and the Far East. Its head office is in Köniz, Switzerland, and it has additional production facilities in Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom and the USA. In the 2016 financial year the company and its approximately 900 employees generated sales of about CHF 200 million. As the Metall Zug Group’s fourth business unit, Haag-Streit will continue to maintain an independent market presence with its own autonomous brand. The Haag-Streit Group generated operating profit (EBITDA) of some CHF 30 million in the 2016 financial year. Its EBITDA margin was nearly 16%.
Metall Zug, an industrial group of companies headquartered in Zug, comprises three Business Units and has a workforce of around 4,000. The holding company Metall Zug AG is listed in the Swiss Reporting Standard of SIX Swiss Exchange.

Dynatrace LLC (Dynatrace) acquired 100% of the shares in Qumram Holding AG (Qumram), a company offering advanced session replay technology for mobile and web applications. Qumram’s technology allows all digital activity to be recorded and replayed, which provides inter alia a transparent digital audit trail for financial services organizations. With the acquisition of Qumram, Dynatrace, a leading digital performance management software company, is expanding its digital experience capabilities by providing the ability to visually replay a user session within the existing platform.
Walder Wyss advised Dynatrace LLC on all legal aspects of the transaction. The independent private investment company Ardian has won the bidding for the Germany based lighting maker SLV. Ardian entered into an agreement with Cinven to acquire SLV. The completion of the transaction is subject to approval of the applicable anti-trust authorities.
SLV has experienced significant growth over the past decades and became a leading provider of lighting fixtures for residential and commercial space. With the support of Ardian, SLV intends to continuously innovate its diversified product portfolio and further develop its international footprint.
